Dr. Tim Barry

Dr. Tim Barry, a native of Sunset, is a 1994 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. He also holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in general science and from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in physiological optics. He is a therapeutically certified optometrist, holding licenses in both Louisiana and Texas. His practice ranges from primary car optometry to diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, including the pre- and post-operative care of LASIK, cataract surgery and other surgery of the eye. His practice is strongly focused on the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration and pediatric eye care.

He is a member of the Jennings American Legion Hospital ancillary medical staff since 1997. He is the immediate past president of the Optometry Association of Louisiana and the 2007 Louisiana Optometrist of the Year. Dr Barry is a member of the AOA Sports Vision Section and has performed sports vision exams at the National AAU Jr. Olympics, the LA State Special Olympics and he has been the team eye doctor for the nationally ranked University of Louisiana Lady Cajuns Softball Team for the past several years.

He is a provider of free infant eye assessments through the AOA's InfantSEE program. He has also served hundreds of patients doing mission work in Nicaragua. Dr. Barry serves on two committees for the Optometry Association of Louisiana and for the American Optometric Association. Dr. Barry enjoys mentoring future optometrists and has lectured on eye care and optometry at state, regional, and national meetings. He serves as a clinical instructor for the University of Alabama School of Optometry Externship Program. His favorite things in life are being husband, father and the small town eye doctor in Jeff Davis Parish.

Cathy Barry, B.S., R.D., C.P.O.

Cathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She completed her internship at Louisiana Tech University and is a registered dietitian. She is a certified Para-optometric credentialed from the American Optometric Association and has attended optometric practice management courses from the Vision Source, the American Optometric Association and the Louisiana State Association of Optometrists. She will continue to help bring new technologies like our lens casting system, Laser Diagnostic Nerve Fiber Layer Analyser and Dicon/Paradigm Optic Nerve Blood Flow Analyzer to our practice.

Lisa Lejeune, C.P.O., Accounts Manager, Optician

Lisa has been with our office since 2006. Lisa came to us with 6 years of management experience, and recently finished the course Formula's for Business Success. She is a Certified Para- Optometric (C.P.O.). She strives on keeping accounts up to date and helping patients by filing their insurance in a timely fashion. She enjoys fitting patients with fashionable eyewear and providing the best in lens materials and lens options. She enjoys seeing the patient satisfied with having a thorough eye exam. You will find Lisa more than willing to help you in any way she can.

Suzanne Poole, Receptionist

Suzanne is the newest member of our staff, but has years of experience as a receptionist. Suzanne is waiting to help you schedule your next exam.

Kalana Galtier, C.P.O.

Kalana has been assisting Dr. Barry in giving our patients a thorough eye exam as well as performing test on patients since 2005. As a Certified Para-Optometric, Kalana has the skills necessary to help you get a quality eye exam. Among her many talents are visual field testing, Optomap photos, PHP Macular Degeneration testing Glaucoma Diagnostic (GDx) testing and retinal photography. Kalana is waiting to help you with all of your eye care needs.

Pamela Petry

Pamela has enjoyed working with Dr. Barry in the exam room to ensure all patients recieve a thorough exam as well as performing tests on patients.
